What's the point of klutz Ability? ›

Klutz prevents the effects of the held item of the Pokémon with this Ability from applying. Klutz does not negate item effects that affect prize money, experience, effort values, or friendship, such as those of the Amulet Coin, Lucky Egg, Power Weight, or Soothe Bell.

Initially the signature ability of of the Lopunny line, Klutz prevents the Pokémon from using any held items, cutting off an entire avenue of strategy within battle. This is clearly a negative, but Klutz isn't as high up on the list because of its one potential strategy, which is Klutz and Switcheroo.

Klutz does not affect items which affect prize money, experience or effort values, such as the Amulet Coin, Lucky Egg or Power Weight. The speed drop from the Iron Ball is not negated by Klutz.

And the speed decrease from Iron Ball will still occur as well. All your other mainstream items- Leftovers, Life Orb, Expert Belt, etc- don't affect a pokémon with Klutz, though. But on the upshot, neither do the Toxic or Flame Orbs.

Klutz does not prevent the user from Mega Evolving via Mega Stone.

Pokémon with Klutz still receive the speed drop from the Macho Brace and Power Items. They cannot use the movesFling or Natural Gift. They can still Mega Evolve or undergo Primal Reversion with the right item. They can also use Z-Moves with a Z-Crystal.

1) Multiscale

Only two Pokemon can use it as a hidden ability: Dragonite (Dragon/Flying-type) and Lugia (Psychic/Flying-type). It is challenging for trainers to add this overpowered capability because no Pokemon has it as a regular move. Both monsters demonstrate extraordinary abilities in and outside of the battle.

Klutz prevents the Pokémon with this Ability from using Natural Gift; however, it does not prevent the Pokémon from using Fling. If a Pokémon with Klutz uses Bug Bite or Pluck, it will consume the target's held Berry without gaining its effects.

As for Klutz, it's not as useless as you think. It ignores the effects of a lot of harmful items like Sticky Barb and Toxic/Flame Orb which makes Switcheroo sets on Lopunny able to really use it effectively by potentially crippling the opponent.

Can you use 2 Lucky Eggs? ›

You can also activate up to 200 Lucky Eggs at a time to stack their effects instead of using one every 30 minutes. Pro tip: Consider using Lucky Eggs when you're about to improve your Friendship Level with a friend, especially when reaching Ultra Friends or Best Friends, to maximize the XP you can earn.

Pokemon with Klutz can still hold (and gain the effect of) Exp. Share, Lucky Egg, and Macho Brace. If you're still set on using that Pokemon, might as well slap a Lucky Egg on it at least. I still support Stannis Baratheon, the one true king of Westeros.

If you plan on the pokemon being out for more than an average of 3 turns, Flame Orb is better. However, staying in 2 turns or less on average results in the Toxic Orb doing less residual damage. The third turn is where the damage between the two equals out.

Poison Type Pokemon will not be poisoned by the Toxic Orb, so they make good candidates to hold it if players want to place it on an enemy. Its best use, however, might be with a Zangoose with its hidden ability, Toxic Boost.

Any hold item that affects the holder's Forme cannot be Tricked/Knocked Off/Thieved/etc.

Defeatist decreases the power of the Pokémon's moves by 1/3 when its HP is equal to or less than half of its maximum.

Heavy Metal (ability)

Heavy Metal doubles the Pokémon's weight in battle. Increasing weight affects these moves: Grass Knot (higher damage when receiving) Heat Crash (higher damage when attacking, lower damage when receiving)
