Generally, molasses is made either from sugarcane or beet sugar.Grandma’sMolasses is made of the finest quality unsulfured liquid of sun-ripened sugarcane.

Molasses is used as a sweetener in baking (e.g., gingerbread), cooking (e.g., pork tenderloin glaze) or topping (e.g., hot cereal), and can also be used to sweeten beverages like coffee.Click here for products.

Grandma’sMolasses is made of the finest quality unsulfured liquid of sun-ripened sugarcane. After the sugarcane is cut and crushed, the liquids are extracted and boiled. The two grades ofGrandma’sMolasses – Original and Robust – are created by the length of the boiling process. The remaining liquid from the boiling process is placed into a high-speed crystallizer, spinning out molasses while the sugar in the liquid crystallizes.

Grandma’sMolasses comes in two grades: Original and Robust. Original molasses: amber color, used to sweeten hot cereals, yogurts or hot drinks (like coffee, tea or cocoa). It’s also used in gingerbreads, cookies, pies, cakes and glazes.Robust molasses: more concentrated with a richer flavor than Original; used in slow-cooked dishes like baked beans or barbeque sauce.

Both grades ofGrandma’sMolasses are unsulfured molasses, making them the finest quality of sugarcane molasses available.

Sulfured molasses is made from immature green sugarcane that is treated with sulfur fumes during the sugar extracting process, whereasGrandma’sunsulfured molasses is made of the finest quality pure unsulfured liquid of sun-ripened sugarcane.
