A: There is no cost for the Guest to attend!
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: What is the dress for the Guest?” el_id=”1448930532555-e9e10f32-73d4″]
A: This is your chance to shine! Get as dressy as you want! Suggested dress for Ladies… church dresses/dressy slacks to semi formal and long formal wear! Suggested dress for Men…from khakis and button down with tie to suit or Tux!
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Is the Guest required to wear formal wear?” el_id=”1448930552592-5bec2cbf-8d5c”]
A: While this is a Prom, and most of our guests enjoy dressing up in semi formal and formal wear, our first concern is the comfort of the guest. If the guest does not want to dress up, we do not require it. In fact, our Gym floor is a beautiful floor that we want to protect, so no heels are allowed on it…only rubber soled shoes! So feel free to dance barefoot! Who needs aching feet at the end of the night??
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Will food be served?” el_id=”1448930572820-922c0dc9-0a95″]
A: Yes! We will provide a full sit down dinner to all guests. If your guest has food allergies, please indicate so on the Registration form. We will accommodate such food allergies as Dairy, Tree Nut, Peanuts, Gluten Free. If Guest needs to be fed through a feeding tube or have their food processed, we ask that the parent/caregiver handle those needs.
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Will the music be loud? Will there be flashing/strobe lighting at the dance?” el_id=”1448930653797-214ff3f5-da6f”]
A: This is a dance, and we do want our guests to be able to dance and have a good time so music will be loud enough for everyone to hear in a crowded room, but not blaring. For those with noise sensitivity issues, we do recommend bringing headphones. While we will have up-lighting around the room, we will have no flashing or strobe lights at the dance.
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Are the parents/caregivers allowed to stay?” el_id=”1448930688871-1290656b-db15″]
A: That is up to you! You are welcome to stay or enjoy some time to yourself. We will have a Parent/Caregiver room set up that you are welcome to hang out in.
We only ask that if you leave the Altria Theater, you confirm at registration that we have the correct emergency contact information on file.
If staying, we do ask that after registration, you head to the red carpet while your Guest meets their buddy and gets their photograph taken, and then you can cheer and snap photos as they walk the red carpet!
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Can I request a specific Buddy for my Guest?” el_id=”1448930741276-08ca127b-9545″]
A: Yes, we will try to honor all requests for a specific Buddy, however, the Buddy you request must be a registered volunteer and have a background check verified and on file with us. There is a spot on the registration form where you can indicate your request. If you are wanting a caregiver or nurse to be their Buddy, please ask them to fill out our Volunteer registration form at www.nighttoshinerva.com.

A: You do not. You only have to have a desire to want to be a part of this event and make this night special for our guests, showing them God’s love!
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: Your site says that I will have to have a background check. Can you tell me more about that.” el_id=”1448930833113-9f610673-6343″]
A: Yes, for the safety of all of our guests, the Tim Tebow Foundation requires that all of our adult volunteers have a recent background check. If you have had a recent background check in the past year through your work, church, school, civic association or for another volunteer role, those will be accepted if you have the organization who performed the original background check email us verification. If you have not had a background check recently, we will ask that you submit a background check application online. The cost is $11.75 and the results will be reported directly to our church administrator. We are sorry that we cannot pick up the cost for the background check but we want to ensure that all of our funding goes directly to creating a Night to Shine for our guests!
If you are under the age of 18, a background check is not required, however, you will be asked to have a Parent Waiver Form on file with us before volunteering. We will email you that form after you register.
[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Q: What is the dress for the Volunteers?” el_id=”1448930862258-c57b7eda-5400″]
A: Your dress depends on your role. If you are a Buddy, we ask that you dress in Prom attire…semi formal to formal dress for ladies, and khakis and button down with tie, to suit or even tux for men! All other non –buddy volunteer positions will be asked to wear black pants and a white shirt.

A: Absolutely! We want everyone to be prepared and our night to go flawlessly for our guests. We will have a night set up prior to February 9th, where we will run through the event flow, give you information regarding your Guest (if applicable), and go over rules and tips for working with individuals with disabilities.

Our plan is to offer a night to come “shop for free” for our lady guests so they pick out their perfect gown for the ball!
