These candied almonds are a favorite with my father. They taste so good when warm! Substitute any nuts you prefer.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • ½ cup water

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 2 cups whole almonds

Directions

  1. Gather all ingredients. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper.

  2. Combine sugar, water, and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat; bring to a boil. Add almonds; cook and stir mixture until liquid evaporates and leaves a syrupy coating on almonds.

  3. Pour almonds onto the prepared baking sheet; use two forks to separate clumps and spread into an even layer.

  4. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes. Enjoy!
