FALLS CHURCH, Va.– Finding the health care resources you need can be difficult, especially if you’re living or traveling overseas. That’s why International SOS Government Services, Inc., the TRICARE Overseas Program (TOP) contractor, created MyCare Overseas. This is a new self-service tool for those enrolled in TOP Prime, TOP Prime Remote, or TOP Select. And it helps you get all of the information you need from one place.
“MyCare Overseas is a convenient, secure, and user-friendly mobile app designed to enhance your health care experience,” said Michael Griffin, a program analyst with the TRICARE Overseas Program Office at the Defense Health Agency. “It offers you easy access to such services as checking your TRICARE health plan, verifying TRICARE covered services, and accessing other reliable sources of information.”
The MyCare Overseas app, which is also available as a web-based portal, lets you do a host of important health care tasks. From your mobile phone or computer, you can:
- Get 24/7 access to the Global First Call Desk, Beneficiary Support Center, and Technical Support. You can also get in touch with your local Near Patient Team if you live in Bahrain, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, or South Korea.
- Access a self-service ChatBot for immediate answers to FAQs and, if needed, a direct link to chat with the Beneficiary Support Center
- Search for TOP network providers with the Healthcare Finder tool
- Find country information, such as emergency numbers, medical risk ratings, and cultural tips
- Set appointment reminders, keep track of referral status and issued authorizations, and view provider contact details
- Check health plan enrollment, as well as access TRICARE covered services and TOP Beneficiary Secure Claims Portal
- Access real-time telephonic language translation assistance
- Submit requests for medical record translations and download translated documents
Accessing MyCare Overseas is quick and easy. To start, head to the Apple App Store or Google Play app store, download the app onto your mobile device, and register an account. Not using the app? You can also access the MyCare Overseas portal from your computer.
You must enroll in TOP Prime, TOP Prime Remote, or TOP Select to be eligible for TOP benefits and use MyCare Overseas. When can you enroll? As outlined in the TRICARE Overseas Program Handbook, you can only enroll in or change enrollment in these plans after you have a Qualifying Life Event or during open season.
