There are many story related to red nail color.
We are most interested in those stories that date back to the period before the New Age, admiring the fact that in those periods the appearance and color of nails was very important.
Two fantastic ladies, Queen Nefertiti, followed by Cleopatra, were trendsetters in their time. It is believed that Queen Nefertiti was the first in ancient Egypt to paint her nails red, to symbolise her royal status. She usually wore a ruby-red nail color, and it is suggested that she used blood as a colouring agent.
Cleopatra also wore red nails during her rule over Egypt, and no one else was allowed to paint nails in the same color.
Maybe because of those stories, red nail color is one of the most favourite among all ladies.
