Two days after the meeting, however.the Sisseton-Wahpeton tribal council passed a resolution seeking to renegotiate the contract with IGN, the lawsuit says. Two months later, the tribe told IGN it was ending its casino management contract and seeking other proposals to run the gaming hall. The tribe hired Casino Magic last April to develop and manage a casino on tribal land in North Dakota. The contract is awaiting National Indian Gaming Commission approval.

Sisseton-Wahpeton Tribal Chairman Arnold Ryan was out of town Friday and could not be reached for comment. SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) A jilted casino management firm has sued its rival over development of an Indian casino in North Dakota, saying an underhanded plot interfered with its contract. International Gaming Network filed the federal suit in Sioux Falls this week against Casino Magic Corp. The two conrpanies were rivals for a contract to manage a planned casino for the Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota Nation near Han-kinson, N.D.

The lawsuit says Casino Magic representatives persuaded the tribe to break off its contract with IGN to build and run the casino. IGN, based in Hingham, wants more than $28 million in damages from Casino Magic, of Bay St. Louis, Miss. Casino Magic officials referred questions about the suit to company lawyer Bob Callaway, who was flying to Greece Friday and unavailable for comment. The tribe hired IGN to develop and run the planned Dakotah 7 Casino in June 1993.

Less than a month later, Casino Magic representatives met with the tribe's gaming board in Wa-tertown "for the purpose of influencing (tribal) officials and interfering with" IGN's contract, the lawsuit says. After IGN objected to the meeting, Casino Magic officials said the meeting was "a training Pomeroy forced to hoof it MINOT Friends, co-workers donating blood Commanders, co-workers and friends of Minot Air Force Base Capt. Kelly Ahmann showed up this week to give blood that might hefp save his life. Ahmann, 31, assigned to the base's 23rd Bomb Squadron, has lymphoma, a form of cancer, and needs a bone marrow transplant. He is hospitalized at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.

Tests of the blood drawn from donors Wednesday will help narrow them to a few who may match Ahmann's bone marrow type. "Everybody wanted to do something to help," said Lt. Col. Steve Schmidt, the squadron commander. The organizer of the drive, Capt.

Dave Bruneau, said the goal was to get 300 people to have their blood tested. A total of 270 showed up. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is assisting in the investigation in case the bones turn out to be from an Indian grave site. Associated Press FARGO (AP) Rep. Earl Pomeroy figures he has traveled just about every road in North Dakota at one time or another, though usually in a car. But on Thursday afternoon, the Democrat found himself relying on foot power, his thumb and the kindness of others.

Pomeroy was on his way from Grand Forks and Portland for a meeting between Federal Crop Insurance Corp. officials and Because of construction detours in Grand Forks, his car became separated from another car carrying Crop Insurance Administrator Ken Ackerman. Pomeroy said he pulled over to wait, but became concerned when Ackerman's car failed to show up. Fearing Ackerman had car trouble, Pomeroy sent a staff member back in the car to look for Ackerman, while he and another crop insurance expert got our to walK the remaining 12 miles to the meeting. "Fortunately, the first vehicle along was a big old Pepsi truck and he was kind enough to pull over and we scrambled up with our briefcases and headed off to Portland," Pomeroy said, laughing.

"The driver looks over to me and says, 'Well, you're on the campaign I'm not sure if he thinks this is the kind of thing we do routinely, but it got us to the meeting." Pomeroy said he found out later that Ackerman got to the meeting ty a different route. Police arrest six panhandlers FARGO (AP) Police arrested six panhandlers in two hours in an effort to crack down on the problem. Gilman said five of the six arrested have no permanent address.

Panhandling is punishable by a $25 fine, Gilman said. S.D. trucking firm helps with investigation MINNEAPOLIS (AP) A South Dakota trucking company said Friday it was cooperating with agencies investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to possible "cross-contamination" in tanker trucks. State and federal officials on Thursday said the outbreak among people who had eaten Schwan's ice cream may have come from raw eggs carried in trucks that later brought ingredients to the Schwan's Sales Enterprises factory in Marshall. Cliff Viessman, a Gary, S.D.-based trucking company, issued a statement saying that it has cooperated with all agencies involved!
