I would like the new version of the app – how do I get it?

Depending on your device, the new version of the app can be accessed by visiting the App Store (insert link) or Google Play Store (insert link).

What operating systems are supported?

The taste.com.au app supports:

  • Android 8 and above
  • iOS 14 and above

What happened to the old version of the app?

We have made significant improvements to the taste.com.au app.

The new app includes updated features such as improved search, personalised homepage, updated recipe templates, ingredients toggle in method steps and much more.

Please note: Once you have upgraded to the new version of the app, you’ll be unable to access the old version.

How can I update my preferences?

Updating your preferences helps us personalise your suggested content.

You can update your preferences at any time by following these steps:

  1. Go to the app homepage
  2. Go to the settings page by selecting the profile icon in the top right corner
  3. Within settings, under the ‘Account’ heading, select ‘ Preferences’
  4. You will be presented with questions that help us personalise your content experience.

How do I set up notifications?

Android

  1. Go the ‘Settings’ app on your device, then ‘Notifications’ under settings
  2. Go to ‘App Notifications’ and click, the choose the taste.com.au app
  3. Toggle on notifications for the taste.com.au app if you want to receive notifications

iOS

  1. Go the the ‘Settings’ app on your device, then ‘Notifications’ under settings
  2. Go to ‘Allow notifications’ at the top and toggle on the slide if you want to receive notifications

How do I turn off notifications?

Android

  1. Go the ‘Settings’ app on your device, then ‘Notifications’ under settings
  2. Go to ‘App Notifications’ and click, the choose the taste.com.au app
  3. Toggle off notifications for the taste.com.au app if you want to stop receiving notifications

iOS

My app keeps crashing. How can I fix it?

Here are some helpful steps you can take that should fix the issue:

  1. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the app. Do this by going to the app store, find the taste.com.au app and click update.
  2. Restart your device (turn it off, then turn it on again).
  3. Click on the app icon to re-open the app.

Android users

  1. INSTALL THE APP ON YOUR DEVICE – Download the taste.com.au app through the Google Play Store on your tablet or smartphone.
  2. SUBSCRIBE – Once you have downloaded the taste.com.au app, click the ‘subscribe’ button and subscribe through the Google Play Store in order to enjoy unlimited access to all recipes and exclusive subscriber content in the taste.com.au app.

iOS users (iPad/iPhone)

  1. INSTALL THE APP ON YOUR DEVICE – Download the taste.com.au app through the App Store on your iPad or iPhone.
  2. SUBSCRIBE – Once you have downloaded the taste.com.au app, click the ‘subscribe’ button and subscribe through iTunes in order to enjoy unlimited access to all recipes and exclusive subscriber content in the taste.com.au app.

How much does a subscription to the taste.com.au app cost?

It is free to download the taste.com.au app.
As a non-subscriber, you can access up to 10 recipes for free.

A subscription to the taste.com.au app will give you:

  • Unlimited access to all taste.com.au recipes
  • Unlocked access to app subscriber exclusive content

A new taste.com.au app subscription costs $1.99 per month.

Any historical app user that has an existing subscription will continue to pay $0.99 per month.

How do I cancel my taste.com.au app subscription?

Android

  1. On your Android device, go to subscriptions in Google Play
  2. Select the subscription you want to cancel
  3. Tap ‘Cancel subscription’
  4. Follow the instructions to cancel

iOS

  1. Go to the App Store, select Settings, and go to your account at the top of the Settings page.
  2. Go to Subscriptions
  3. Choose the taste.com.au app
  4. Tap ‘Cancel subscription’
  5. Tap ‘Confirm’ for cancellation

I’m having trouble renewing my taste.com.au app subscription through the App Store – what do I do?

  • If you have more than one itunes account/Apple ID set up, check that you’re using the correct account.
  • You may also want to confirm that the email address you registered the Taste iOS App with is the same as the one you are using to renew your subscription.
  • Often, turning your device off and on can resolve the issue. If the problem persists, you can try removing and reinstalling the app.
  • If you are still experiencing difficulties renewing your subscription, please contact our customer support team. To help us address your query, we request that you quote your iTunes receipt.

Existing registered taste.com.au users

If you already have a free taste account (signing up from either web or app), you can use this account to sign into the app. You will have access to your saved Favourites (previously named ‘Cookbooks’). You can also view 10 recipes for free on the app. (See sign-in instructions for registered users below).

If you would like unlimited app access to recipes (including all recipes in your favourites), you can become an app subscriber for $0.99/month.

How do I log in to my taste.com.au account when using the taste.com.au app?

  1. Locate the log in button
  2. At the bottom of the ‘Settings’ page or follow the prompts on the ‘Favourites’ page
  3. Enter the email address and password you used when you created your taste.com.au account.

My existing password isn’t working. What should I do?

  1. Reset your password from the login screen, click on “Forgot your password
  2. Check your email address and ensure that it’s valid (check your spam folder to validate your email)
  3. If you did not receive the email, please email us.

How do I create a new taste.com.au account?

  1. Follow the above steps to log in to your account and either:
    1. On the ‘Favourites’ page, select ‘Sign up for a free account’
      OR
    2. On the login page, select the ‘Sign Up’ tab and follow the prompts

Favourites (Previously Cookbooks)

Where are my cookbooks in the new app?

We have renamed ‘Cookbooks’ to ‘Favourites’ in the new taste.com.au app. This can be found in the main navigation bar within the app.

  • Once you’ve logged in to your taste.com.au account, your previously saved content can be found within your ‘Favourites’ page.

Can I link my account between apple and android?

If you log in to your taste.com.au account on an Apple device and an Android device, saved favourites content will be synchronised across devices. However, you cannot link your subscription across apple and android devices. This is because the payment occurs via either the Apple App Store or Google Play Store platform.
