FCCU President and CEO says scaffolding came down not the building (2024)

MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) -A collapse at the construction site of the new First Community Credit Union in Mandan will not delay the completion of the project.

President and CEO Steve Schmitz, said it was the scaffolding that came down, not the building.

Schmitz said the scaffolding was being used to build the elevator tower, concrete and staircases.

“We have a scheduled completion date of December 2021. So you know, it’s unlikely that this incident will cause any delay, in pushing that date back at all,” said Schmitz.

Schmitz said construction crews are reassembling the scaffolding Monday.
