It’s Crazy Hair Day at school tomorrow. I hate it. So much stress. High expectations from my children and it always ends in tears. But I just tested one of the coloured hairsprays I purchased this afternoon in desperation and it’s actually made me smile. Quite liking a little pop of pink! 😆Maybe tomorrow will be Crazy Hair Day in the studio for me too! 😉That said - I still hate Crazy Hair Day. £18 spent for my child to participate and donate £1 to the school. I’d rather just give the school the money and save the time and the stress! There must be things we do in business that seem like a good idea but actually waste time and resources…How many of us have spent money, time and energy trying to do something that could have been done differently? Better? Or that someone else could have done better while we spent that time doing what we do best? 🙋🏼♀️I fall into that camp far too often… 🤦🏼♀️Could be all sorts of things:- Accounting- Copywriting- Tech set-up- Admin support- Photography- Website design and maintenance - Marketing- DesignI still have to DO the hair somehow tomorrow! A hair stylist I am not. In fact, for a special event last year I paid a professional to do my hair rather than faff with it and get a substandard result myself! (Wish they did crazy hair day appointments!) What professionals do you use to help your business and take those job you hate or don’t have the skill set or time for?And if you are fed up of trying to make your brochure/lead magnet/social media/logo look good and can’t work out why it’s not quite right, or those things are still items on your to-do list because you don’t have a clue where to start, gimme a shout - because I love to help get people out of that rut and you can pay me to do it while you crack on with something you *really* want to do!

Oh my goodness - good luck with the crazy hair day - my boys have one of those most days... 😂 Thankfully our school has never suggested a crazy hair day. And if they have, it's blissfully passed me by without me noticing....I don't think I've ever crossed paths with a parent who relishes school theme days - that does make you wonder who dreams up these madhat ideas to drop a little panic into our lives 🤔

This just seems so wrong. £18 per child. What about those parents who simply cannot afford this amount of money? And really, where is the educational benefit of these events? Maybe I am sounding like a grumpy old fart now, but we need to concentrate on the important aspects of education when so many children are not meeting the KS targets when they leave primary school.

I'm with you sister!! Irritating waste of time, energy and money when like you i'd much rather give the cash spent on materials to the end charity. I sense back combing is going to be your friend with some bows and clips stuck in haphazardly along with some spray colour. That's got me through crazy hair days in the past. Good luck!

Don't our children and you the parents have enough stress already with getting through the day? Plus the extra cost. £18 to participate? That's enough to feed a family of four for a day. I also remember that when I was at school my schools didn't need to fundraise.

Eeek I hope you got their hair looking crazy in a way that was stress free, fun and made them smile as much as you are in this photo Alex! What a great point you make about all the things we get up so that are not such a good use of our time.......I used to quite happily spend a LOT of time messing about in canva only to be frustrated with the efforts. I would enjoy the process, but not the result! So much smarter to hire a talented professional like yourself and free up that time for me to do something I enjoy that also yields results!

Even as a kid I had zero interest in these sorts of ‘days’ - and there were far fewer of them then than now.

Pancakes for lunch today #SorryNotSorry They were delicious. But I made a shocking discovery..!The lemon juice in our fridge was best before June 2018 😱 🤣 But it's lemon juice so I decided if it didn’t kill me when I've used it over the last 5 and half years, it was unlikely to start today, so I still used it. #NoRegrets But I have since wondered if fresh lemon or just a bottle that's *in-date* would have made those delicious pancakes even better... 🤔Is your logo like my lemon juice? 🍋 Out of date🍋 'Useable' but it sits around unused🍋 Some people are put off by itI'm on a mission to help business owners fall back in love with their logo. ❤️ I have a new package that I'm launching tomorrow that will enable you, with a little bit of cupid's magic and some strategic design thinking, to have a:❤️ refreshed version of your logo❤️ set of logo variations❤️ colour palette❤️ suitable font pairings❤️ brand guideline documentSo who wants to fall back in love with their branding?! Pop a 🍋 in the comments and I'll be in touch with more information! And, come on, own up –who else would have used the lemon juice?! 😅 (I'm wondering now if the concept of lemon and sugar on pancakes is even a thing these days. Have I just shown my age...?!)

7 years ago I started networking after 10 years of no network other than the people I already knew and my clients. I've met some incredible people over those 7 years and I'm certain without them, their support, their advice, and their belief in me I would not still be doing what I'm doing. I feel very lucky to also know Emily and Alan and to be a part of their 🎪 Digital Circus community where I continue to meet more brilliant business owners. Emily and Alan live and breathe what they teach and it was a privilege to talk to them on their 🎪 Digital Circus LIFE podcast. It's a small business podcast with a twist – whilst it is about business it's focus is on really finding out about the person *behind* the business. I've always loved listening to this podcast. And I really enjoyed talking to Emily and Alan. But honestly I'm really very nervous that this episode is out in the wild. You should definitely give the podcast a listen – but maybe check out the other episodes..! 😉 🎥https://lnkd.in/eWpwYvMk🎧https://lnkd.in/eRHT_Ete

Enfys is more than a sales coach. She is a cheerleader, a connector, a business opportunity seeking missile, an accountability holder AND a sales coach. She’ll tell you herself that she’s no fluff sales trainer. But that’s what I appreciate most about her. Like you, I spend my day making decisions - and sometimes when I’m unsure what to do in an area that’s not my strength, I really appreciate someone making it a bit easier. So when Enfys tells me what to do to increase my sales all I have to do is put it into action. And when I do, I see results. If you’re feeling a bit stuck in your business, and want to make sales more comfortably then I’d highly recommend you sign up her FREE 5 day challenge which begins next week.https://lnkd.in/eT4W_fRV

I won Enfys Maloney in a raffle! I felt like I already knew her when I introduced myself because so many other people in my world at the time had been mentioning her and here I was, having won the opportunity to benefit from an hour of her time! When she asked how I felt about selling 18 months ago all I could do was pull a face. I couldn't even put it into words. What even was 'selling'? Was I doing it? I must be... It sounds scary. I felt completely out of my depth.Yet I'd been running my own (profitable) business since 2006 so I MUST have been selling but I couldn't have explained what activities I did that were 'selling'. I knew what I didn't like about being sold *to* and when it felt uncomfortable. And I also knew I'd love to make more money yet have more time away from my desk. I had no strategy.Buying that raffle ticket was the beginning of quite a journey. That hour of special Enfys magic, during which she changed my perspective about selling, lead to six months as a member of her Elevate Circle, in-person sales training events in London and her End of Year Extravaganza last year. And so much learning and growing - personally and for my business. I now have a grasp on what sales and sales strategy actually are - but more specifically, what that looks like to MY business and how I can make sales that align with MY values and strengths. The accountability she provided lead me to take action I know I wouldn't have taken alone. Enfys believed in me, so I did too. And the community of fabulous, inspiring business owners that she has created has brought me amazing business relationships - some of whom I now count as dear friends. Her five-time award-winning sales training is now available for FREE during her 5 day challenge 'From Overlooked to Fully-Booked', starting on 4th February! You can sign-up now.If your business needs sales, then this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss out on 'From Overlooked To Fully Booked' in 5 days. You really don't have anything to lose - other than your fear of selling and that empty looking sales funnel... 😜
