Its 30 minutes per pound on the roast beef, and I have not made scalloped potatoes in my IP as of yet. I would refer you to Pinterest to search for a recipe.

FAQs

What should I make first in my new Instant Pot? ›

When it comes to breaking your Instant Pot in, it's a good idea to start with some basic foods and simple meals you're already familiar with, then slowly expand your Instant Pot repertoire from there. Try making staples like eggs, sweet potatoes, rice, or lentils using just the pressure cooker function.

Is an Instant Pot worth it for a single person? ›

It doesn't take up too much space

I have the 6-quart size and I find that it fits easily in one of my cabinets. But if you're tighter on storage, Instant Pot also makes a 3-quart Duo that is more than large enough to cook a meal for one person (and it's cheaper!).

What is the best liquid for Instant Pot? ›

Just as I recommend swapping out the water in a cornstarch slurry for something with a bit more oomph, you can replace the water in Instant Pot recipes with broth (or Better Than Bouillon, which has more flavor than true broth), soy sauce, fish sauce, wine, beer, or juice.

How long do Instapots last? ›

The average lifespan of an Instant Pot ranges from 2-5 years, but it can last longer depending on how often it's used and how well-maintained it is. So it's safe to say Instant Pots aren't commonly being replaced, and may even be a one-time purchase.

Why did Instapot go out of business? ›

“In particular, tightening of credit terms and higher interest rates impacted our liquidity levels and made our capital structure unsustainable,” Mr. Gadbois said. Instant Brands said in a statement on Wednesday that the new financing would allow the company to continue paying workers, vendors and suppliers.

Did Instapot go out of business? ›

The Instant Pot, for its part, is not dead. Cornell Capital has brought in a restructuring crew, and the brand's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing allows it to continue doing business while it seeks relief from its debts.

Why does Instapot say burn food? ›

The Instant Pot's burn message simply means that your Instant Pot has detected that its inner pot has gotten too hot. There may be a slight amount of burned food at the bottom of your pot, but not enough to ruin whatever you're cooking.
